Re: JUNE 2018: Heavy Rainfall Possible Through Wednesday

Getting good low level moisture transport across a lot of SE Texas but not much lift currently. Might be hard to get much going until early morning at earliest.

Re: JUNE 2018: Heavy Rainfall Possible Through Wednesday

Corpus is getting hit pretty hard right now. Pretty strong training that isn't moving so much.

Re: JUNE 2018: Heavy Rainfall Possible Through Wednesday

This is a warning to everyone to keep the conversation civil and to focus on what is going on now. We can debate who got how much rain and comparison to previous storms later. As for now let's keep the conversation on track and keep the information beneficial for everyone visiting the forum.

Re: JUNE 2018: Heavy Rainfall Possible Through Wednesday

Seems like Beaumont area will get more tonight is that right Andrew ? Everyone will have a chance to get some more but the atmosphere is pretty worked over and the trough located off the coast is focusing a lot of the convection there so I think Beaumont may be able to get a little bit of a break. ...

Re: JUNE 2018: Heavy Rainfall Possible Through Wednesday

Up around my area we are on track for those 3-5 inch totals. Concerning over the Katy and Beaumont areas where training has and continue to occur. Should see rain chances last until late this week when weak ridging tries to take control.

Re: JUNE 2018: Watching The Tropics/Heavy Rainfall Possible

Beaumont/Port Arthur area is going to be under the gun for the next couple hours. Already seeing some flooding and it will only get worst. Models try and push some of this convection further west but we will have to wait and see when that happens. 850mb moisture transport still shows that areas to t...

Yea that is why I didn't post the QPF because its way too aggressive, but it can be useful to see the trend and that is additional coverage for much of SE Texas.

Re: JUNE 2018: Watching The Tropics/Heavy Rainfall Possible

HRRR, while it has been struggling some over the last couple runs, suggests a lot of convection will break out along the coast and over a lot of SE Texas over the next 4-5 hours. Going to have to keep an eye on any training that could setup.

Re: JUNE 2018: Watching The Tropics/Heavy Rainfall Possible

Not much change in my eyes from today's model runs. Maybe a little further north with the heavier rain but overall events are proceeding as expected. Still thinking widespread 3-5 with isolated 8-10 inches (especially South and West of Houston). Now, if a band starts to train, things could change ra...

Re: JUNE 2018: Watching The Tropics/Heavy Rainfall Possible

Interesting to note the GFS is picking up on some banding monday afternoon that would be need to be monitored. Some of the hi-res models were picking up on that too. I still believe Monday evening/night will have the highest potential of heavy rain.
