Re: NOVEMBER 2018: Wet & Chilly Wx Returns/Thanksgiving Outl

One last today of 'warm' temperature and partly cloudy conditions before a shallow modified Canadian front arrives tomorrow afternoon/evening. This shallow cold front will drop temperatures into the 50's for daytime highs and possibly 40's for morning lows, particularly N of I-10 throughout most of ...

Re: Meteor over Austin, now one over Clear Lake?

The Leonid Meteor Showers peak this weekend. 2001 was extremely impressive while viewing from the Florida Keys. I find it impressive that we've seen evidence of another active meteor shower this year locally.

Re: NOVEMBER 2018: Slow Warming Trend/Thanksgiving Outlook

Sorry snowman65. I was in a hurry and didn't explain myself very well. I'll dial back the technical jargon and keep it readable in the days ahead. Hectic times these days with everything with the Weather Forum future issues and Thanksgiving Holidays speeding toward us... ;)

Re: NOVEMBER 2018: Slow Warming Trend/Thanksgiving Outlook

The forecast for the very busy Thanksgiving travel period looks messy across the Texas Gulf Coast. While there remains some uncertainty this far out, the computer guidance does indicate a Coastal trough develops near Brownsville after the next cold front arrives Sunday. That trough appears to deepen...

Re: NOVEMBER 2018: Freeze Warning Issued/Thanksgiving Outloo

Heavy frost this morning across NW Harris County. Currently flirting with 28F as a low this morning in my backyard. The coldest I've seen via the reporting stations is Caldwell where it is 26F. Bay City, Victoria on East to Dickinson have all dropped to 32F or below. Temperatures in the morning may ...

Re: NOVEMBER 2018: Freeze Warning Issued/Thanksgiving Outloo

If the clouds don't clear out, how far south will the freezing temps actually reach? I'm south of Pearland and need to cover my Meyers lemons if it's actually going to get in the upper 20's for any extended period. If it's a couple hours at 30, I'm not going to bother. The back edge of the clouds b...

Re: NOVEMBER 2018: Freeze Warning Issued/Thanksgiving Outloo

Is the sky likely to completely clear tonight in our region? To answer your question, clouds are thinning just above the surface to the N and W, but there are some high clouds streaming along he sub tropical jet that may at least temporarily prevent us from completely clearing out. Maybe after midn...
