Re: Major Hurricane Irma: Cuba/Bahamas/Florida Threat

Watching the weather channel. Why are people playing on the beach and smiling and laughing and jumping in the surf? These are the folks that will have to be rescued or one of the fatalities you read about. :(

Re: August 2017: Typical August WX/ Tracking The Tropics

Looking back through this thread...wow. From Friday August 18. This one really hits home. This is why we look to the forecasts of weather and are so blessed to have the pro mets here that talk to us about it, explain it and let us know what could POSSIBLY happen so we can be prepared IF it happens....

Re: August 2017: Tracking Harvey/Catastrophic Flooding/Torna

It's been raining all day in Stafford, and been getting hammered for about the last hour. Very scared and worried. My heart and head are just aching watching these images and seeing the roadways.

We just got hammered here in Stafford again. Looks like everything is moving north now though. For now I guess.

Re: August 2017: Tracking Harvey/Catastrophic Flooding/Torna

Had a nice reprieve earlier today here in Sugar Land .... this morning went and checked on my neighborhood and had spotty street flooding in the Settlers Park Subdivision but none into any homes. Had 18+ inches in the 48 hours ending at around noon. With that said, the rain band is now setting up a...

Re: August 2017: Tracking Harvey/Catastrophic Flooding/Torna

Just Updated Weather Prediction Center 5 Day Quantitative Precipitation Forecast totals. WPC Forecaster Roth just posted on Facebook that after 7 days of working Havey questioning would Harvey strengthen, are the models wrong, would his friends across SE Texas and SW Louisiana lose everything? He b...

Re: August 2017: Tracking Harvey/Catastrophic Flooding/Torna

Yeah, the Center of circulation has inched southward and is just west of Victoria, and some dry air is being drawn in. Note on the water vapor imagery that the heavy moisture-laden clouds are shifting east towards Louisiana. http://www.goes.noaa.gov/dml/comp/goes/ceus/wv.html I am assuming that is ...

Re: August 2017: Tracking Harvey/Catastrophic Flooding/Torna

Pro Mets, heard this morning on the News that it is possible that the dry area to our west may move this North and East. Than saw someone <not credible source> post that Harvey was doing a 180 degree turn south. What's the real scoop? I know he is not moving out of the area soon, but want to know wh...

Re: August 2017: Tracking Harvey/Catastrophic Flooding/Torna

We have family on the west side, north of you. We haven't heard from them yet. I hope you hear from them soon! Rain has stopped for now here. I have never seen so much water in the yard like I did this evening. And only time I saw our street flooded like it was this evening was during Allison.
