Re: July 2018: Weekend/Early Next Week Rain Chances

The stagnant airmass of late should turn more northerly with a weak front coming down next week. There are indications that there will be a more easterly/se flow into coastal TX to allow increased gulf moisture and wave activity to make it in longer term. Getting more into hurricane season means to ...

Re: JUNE 2018: Heavy Rainfall Possible Through Wednesday

There is redevelopment south of Corpus that they will have to watch. Beaumont looks to receive more rains soon and hope the line keeps moving. The atmosphere is well worked over currently here. There is drier pw air building in the Gulf se of here moving towards the coast so convection will be much ...

Re: JUNE 2018: Heavy Rainfall Possible Through Wednesday

That eastern band doesn't appear to be moving anytime soon for Beaumont. There is activity forming to the ssw moving in, but it is up in the air if it will become sustained for the afternoon/evening. The inflow is cut off from the east band...

Re: JUNE 2018: Watching The Tropics/Heavy Rainfall Possible

Northwest of I-69 (59) hits a wall of nothing. Hrrr keeps insisting the mass east of Hou comes this way overnight, but things appear to be winding down. Cloud tops are warming except for east of Brownsville in the Gulf. Gfs has been consistent in nothing extreme...

Re: JUNE 2018: Watching The Tropics/Heavy Rainfall Possible

Euro seems to have a defect with strengthening a low in west TX and going northeast later in the run. It has been doing that lately and can't buy that. GFS looks more reasonable.

Re: JUNE 2018: Watching The Tropics/Heavy Rainfall Possible

Appears this wave is absorbing former 91L moisture area. Early models are more bullish with it around Matagorda Bay and rainfall amounts for coastal areas of HGX/CRP. Sure is stormy out there in the gulf...

Re: JUNE 2018: Watching The Tropics/Heavy Rainfall Possible

Saw the 18z this event hasn't even started yet and people are gloom and doom about lowered rain amounts of late. Hou is still in the game imo for those wanting bigger amounts.

Re: JUNE 2018:Tracking The Tropics/Heavy Rainfall Possible

Coastal convergence could become a factor where storms focus on the coast early in the morning robbing inflow for inland storms resulting in them being more scattered inland with heating.
